Thank you for your comments

Friday, February 5th, 2010

For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet I do not belong to the computer generations. Your comments, however, are making me aware of things that could make this blog better. Things like figuring out how to use categories in posts. I need to work on labeling the past posts by catagories rather than just by the date order they were written in. You also have me looking at templates. I at least found were they are.  A few months ago I couldn’t even wrap my mind around what a template was let alone consider changing it.  Not trying to ignore you just trying to figure out what you are talking about, who to respond to and how to respond. Figuring it out one term and one click at a time.

Four Benjamins

Friday, February 5th, 2010

I believe I wrote somewhere in my posts (I need to figure out how to catalogue them better) about a family who has been choosing a cause each Christmas and donating to them the collective money they would have used on those small gifts that adult siblings give to each other.  Last night I was handed an envelope with Four Benjamins inside. My eyes popped. Personally I may see one Benjamin every few years. I am far more familiar with Andrew Jackson.

Thank you Eileen & Dan for asking your family to consider us this year. Eileen I am glad it was your choice this year. We are so grateful and so honored. Have to decide if it will go towards finishing the fence or our lodging during training.

To date we have received $458.60 and a promised x large dog crate towards all the things we need to get and do.

Total is still inching up Thank You!

Hello Everyone!

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Becca is still highly excited about her doggie in training.  She carries the pictures I printed for her literally 24/7.  Sleeps with them and takes them everywhere. Occasionally she sets the book down and then forgets where it is. Everything  stops till we locate it for her once again.

My apologies for leaving you out in the dark for so long. I have been down with an acute respiratory illness for two and a half weeks.  I have not seen anything that bad since Becca had pertussis in 1990.  Thankfully she had a much milder illness this time only lasting five days and not one tenth as violent as what I endured.  This past week (as I have been regaining my strength)  has been spent catching up on the never ending sport of paper work. You all know the drill; bills, medical forms,  junk mail, etc…

Things are progressing well towards our August due date.   November 6th I had the chance to share about 4 Paws for Ability with our parent support group. We had a woman promise a large kennel for us, another friend said I could put the money I owed her for a plane ticket towards our current needs, a third friend did all the leg work for those eighty shirts I need to help train the dogs to seizure alert so when a good deal came along at Joanne Fabrics I  knew it was the best price available and moved on the sale. Would have missed that oportunity with out Jeanne’s help because I was way to sick to even start looking myself.

Today I had a phone call. There is local family who had decided a couple years ago to pool the money they would spend on small gifts for extended family members and choose a cause/charity to give it to each year. They have chosen to help us!  We will put the money towards fencing the yard this coming spring so it will be ready for our service dog.

God is Good and the love of his people overwhelming.

I am still very tired will write again.

ONLY $456 TO GO.
ONLY $456 TO GO.

Thank you God for the generousity of your people. Thank you for the out pouring of love from friends. Bless all who gave; with double blessings upon those who sacrificed to do so. Thank you for those who encouraged, and for the others who prayed.

Thank you for this tangible expression of appreciation. Thank you for affirming the knowledge that being there for others is more important than an organized or spotless house. When I once again start to be selfish about my time and energy let this service dog serve to remind me that being there for people is more important than any household project.

Lord meet all the needs of 4Paws not just the ones that pertain to Becca. Amen
