I believe I wrote somewhere in my posts (I need to figure out how to catalogue them better) about a family who has been choosing a cause each Christmas and donating to them the collective money they would have used on those small gifts that adult siblings give to each other. Last night I was handed an envelope with Four Benjamins inside. My eyes popped. Personally I may see one Benjamin every few years. I am far more familiar with Andrew Jackson.

It is too much information if a reader can identify and locate a doner; thus making them a target for scammers.
It is too much info if you are telling people where and when you are going to be someplace other than home. Tell about things after the event.
Any info is too much if the person you are talking about doesn’t want to be talked about. Protect the ID of your shy and private friends. Really good stories can still be used by changing the names and or other details like local.
Gooogle your own name and see what comes up. The information is eye opening and the misinformation can be halarious.
